Wangari Kuria is a dynamic farmer and the digital marketing director at FARMER ON FIRE, a Nairobi-based organization dedicated to providing end-to-end support for smallholder farmers across Africa. Over the past four years, she has cultivated a thriving online community of more than 1Million farmers, sharing valuable insights and best practices on agribusiness, innovation, and sustainability through various digital platforms.

Beyond her work in agribusiness, Wangari is deeply passionate about empowering vulnerable single mothers from pastoralist communities—groups disproportionately affected by climate change. Through her model farms, she commercially produces mushrooms, black soldier fly larvae, and azolla, while equipping these women with essential agricultural skills and financial literacy through table banking initiatives. Her efforts have enabled many to establish their own successful mushroom ventures, fostering economic independence and resilience.

Wangari’s impactful work has earned her global recognition, including the prestigious 40 Under Forty Africa Award and the Global Citizen Prize, highlighting her contributions as a women-in-ag expert and food security advocate. In addition to being a multi-published author, she is currently pursuing a PhD in Agriculture and Climate Change at the University of Edinburgh.

She is actively seeking partnership and collaboration opportunities that align with her mission to enhance commercial food security and agritech solutions across Africa.
