Meet Joe Okelo, The Accidental Farmer
I’m Joe Okelo, an accidental farmer—someone who stumbled into farming by chance and has since endured more than my fair share of “crop failures” and “field experiments” gone wrong. I re-planted my farming dreams in 2018, diving in full-force, only to encounter even stronger forces determined to weed me out.
After experiencing some ups and plenty of downs, I realized farming isn’t just about sowing seeds—it’s about weathering storms, rolling with the punches, and sometimes, embracing the manure life throws your way. That’s what inspired me to start The Accidental Farmer podcast—to dig into my journey, share the stories of others who’ve taken root in farming, and unearth valuable lessons from the field.
Farming has been a tough but fulfilling ride, and the journey is still growing. Through this podcast, I’ll take you behind the scenes of real farming life—no sugarcoating, just the real dirt on farming.
Stay tuned, because farming is no bed of roses, but it sure is worth the toil.
